After consultation of the local residents and the opposition from ICAG, Haringey Council’s proposal to create five football pitches and 83 car parking spaces in Finsbury Park has been dropped.
The space is used to give the opportunity to disabled people to try out cycling in a traffic-free environment. It is also used as an area to train new cyclists in basic control skills in a safe area.
This is a very important step forward for the promotion of green spaces and sustainable use of public spaces.
