14 August – our first family bike ride for too long !

Update:  We had great fun with a group of enthusiastic children with their adults; the rain kept off and there were no major incidents not even on the rather bumpy Parkland Walk.  The two stops, at Yerbury School market and Coal Drops yard provided a wide selection of coffee, cakes, borek and other interesting snacks.  Along the way we bumped into some famiiar faces – hello to Talia, Tab and Richard Watts, our erstwhile council leader.  There are some videos up on our twitter feed by Talia and Tab.  Many thanks to everyone who came along , great to see you all enjoying yourselves out and about on your bikes.

Post:  A gentle 12km family ride around Islington (and neighbouring boroughs) at a pace so that parents can keep up with their children who must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+).

The  ride will follow the new C38 through one of Islington’s newest LTNs to Finsbury Park.  A short stretch along the Parkland walk, which has been widened and resurfaced, with stones !  Down through Hornsey, crossing Holloway Road at Whittington Park, then through Tufnell Park’s historical partly filtered roads. Crossing Camden road, then down through Camden Square and taking Camley Street to Kings Cross Market (with its water feature!)

After a short coffee/cake stop we shall return through the Cally and Barnsbury back to Freightliners Farm.

Please do not turn up to this event if you are displaying symptoms of Covid-19. The safety of our volunteers and participants is key to us.

Please book on Eventbrite.
