Back in 2018 at LCC’s AGM, Heidi Alexander, then the Deputy Mayor for Transport, announced cycle route C50 which would go all the way from Camden to Tottenham.
However, here we are in 2026 and C50 stops just before the railway bridge at Finsbury Park. It’s stuck. Nothing is happening. We have been campaigning for improvements here for years and while TfL and the three councils concerned hold meetings to talk about it, pedestrians and cyclists have suffered serious injuries and worse, deaths. We have joined forces with our sister groups in Hackney and Haringey and with campaigners from Living Streets and Twenty’s Plenty to try to get some focus on this dangerous and poorly designed junction and to encourage completion of the promised final section of C50. Will the new local politicians elected in May 2026 get behind our campaign ? We’re hopeful ………
