What stops women cycling in London ?

The LCC Women’s Network launched their report on ‘What stops women cycling in London’ on 16 January at an event attended by many politicians, campaigners and stake-holders. It is sobering reading.

The accompanying video really brings home the reality faced by women cycling on our streets.

It can’t be right that while women  make up 51% of London’s population, they make only one third of cycling journeys.  And that 9 out of 10 women have experienced verbal abuse and aggression while cycling in London – for 63%, it was once a month.  Not good enough and things must change.  Help the LCC Women’s Network to campaign for change – please add your voice and:

  • sign the petition which asks for action from the Mayor, from the Met Police and from our local London boroughs.
  • join the network and keep in touch with future webinars and events.
  • join the Freedom Ride on 3 March.
