LCC Women’s Network – webinar on reporting to the police

The LCC Women’s Network report on What Stops Women Cycling in London, published in January 2024, highlighted some of the barriers to enabling more women and girls to get on their bikes.  While they make up 51% of London’s population, they currently only make about a third of all cycling journeys.

One of the barriers was the harassment, close passing and bullying experienced while cycling round London.  We organised a webinar last autumn to equip anyone feeling marginalised on London’s roads on how to report such incidents so that the Met Police can monitor, manage and measure them.  The webinar is now available  – three great speakers (Mike Daly a Sergeant in the Met Police’s Cycle Safety Team, Rose Simkins  CEO of Stop Hate UK and Georgina Wilcox a member of the LCC Women’s Network) with the CEO of Joy Riders, Mariam Draaijer, chairing.  Well worth getting a cuppa and settling down to watch.
