Stop Killing Cyclists have called a Die In and Vigil on Wednesday November 8 outside Islington Town Hall, 5.30pm to 7.00pm in memory of Jerome Roussel. More on their Facebook event page. Terry Patterson, LCC‘s Chair of Campaigns and Active Membership will be speaking.
Last week Cycle Islington wrote to Islington Council and expressed our frustration about the poor cycling infrastructure.
No more incremental change: We want transformation
If you feel that Islington Council are falling behind on delivering cycling infrastructure, particularly compared to neighbouring boroughs such as Hackney and Camden, if you feel that our councillors have time and again chosen words over actions, and to hide behind the voices of the few, well-resourced residents who tend to fight for more convenient driving, then please do consider attending this event. We haven’t organised it, but we certainly understand its need.
Islington Council has a long way to go to make the borough safe for cycling. We need action, not words. https://t.co/LIRckD6TRX pic.twitter.com/VWo0TbEnbo
